Andy leads ERM’s UK and EMEA biodiversity teams and works closely with ERM’s Global Biodiversity Technical Community. As experienced impact assessor, he regularly directs impact assessments, critical habitat assessments, the production of management and action plans (including offsets) to meet international standards and has given evidence at public inquiries / hearings and Parliamentary Committees. Andy plays an active role in ERM’s Global Technical Community and contributes to the review of applications to the ERM Foundation.

He holds a bird-ringing permit with a trainer’s endorsement, runs a Constant Effort Site (CES) as part of a national scheme to monitor changes in bird populations, a key biodiversity indicator group and rings seabirds on islands in the Forth Estuary in Scotland.

Chiara is a Principal Environmental consultant with more than 18 years’ experience in several Capital Projects in the industrial, energetic and infrastructure sectors. She worked for different major companies in the preparation of ESIAs, ESMPs and other E&S documentation.

She was involved in several projects both as Company Advisor and Independent/Lender’s Consultant, having a deep knowledge of IFIs, commercial Banks and ECAs standards, including the Equator Principles, the IFC PSs and sector-specific EHS Guidelines as well as the EBRD Environmental and Social Performance Requirements and policy.

Greg is an Associate Partner with ERM based in Vancouver, BC where he is the manager of the Wildlife Department. He and his team offer a full suite of wildlife baseline studies, environmental assessment, permitting, construction monitoring, and compliance monitoring for industrial clients in the mining, power, and oil and gas sectors, with a focus on projects in Canada. He has worked extensively as a wildlife biologist in the Canadian Arctic and northern BC, with more than 20 years of experience conducting wildlife studies and long-term monitoring studies for industrial sites, with a specialty on large mammals such as caribou, moose and bears. He and his team conduct studies on migratory birds, raptors, large mammals, bats, small mammals, as well as vegetation and habitat mapping. Greg also leads a caribou research program for government and a group of mining clients.

Jonathan is an Associate Partner based in Vancouver, Canada, with 15 years of experience in environmental impact assessments across mining, oil and gas, ports, marine facilities, hydropower, and infrastructure sectors in Canada, Europe, North America and South America.

He manages environmental and permitting scopes of work, guiding proponents through all stages of the environmental assessment processes. As the Impact Assessment Regulatory Lead, Jonathan develops strategies in partnership with clients, authors environmental permitting documents, directs consultant teams and leads engagement activities with regulatory bodies, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders to facilitate compliance and collaboration.

Julia is a Technical Partner at ERM, providing technical leadership and project leadership for US and international impact assessment and biodiversity-focused projects within a broad range of sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, mining, and infrastructure. She has over 25 years of experience in developing and leading biodiversity baseline and impact studies in accordance with international standards, including IFC Performance Standards and others. Julia specializes in application of the mitigation hierarchy and development of Biodiversity Action Plans, management and monitoring plans, restoration plans, and offset strategy development to address unavoidable residual impacts and achieve meaningful conservation outcomes. Currently, Julia is leading efforts and partnerships to harness technology to improve biodiversity assessment and management.

Lubin is a Consulting Associate in the Capital Project Delivery team, in Milan, Italy. He has gained solid experience on some of ERM’s larger international projects, supporting on both technical environmental aspects as well as project management for the delivery of strategic reports and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments complying with national regulations and company and lender standards. Projects he has worked on span a range of sectors, including renewables, ammonia production, CCUS, oil and gas, electrical transmission or road construction. Lubin also has experience in greenhouse gas assessments and climate change risk assessments. His academic background combines ecology and environmental sciences with an understanding of the economics and management of natural resources, energy, and sustainability. Lubin speaks five languages, of which fluent French, English and Italian.

Noam is dedicated to employing innovative technical methodologies to solve complex geospatial challenges. As the leader of the GIS and remote sensing team in Washington, D.C., he brings extensive experience across various sectors, with a particular focus on environmental impact assessments and renewable energy projects.

In his role as the biodiversity and ecological services technical champion at ERM, Noam expertly applies advanced approaches such as raster math, LiDAR and DEM modeling, automated scripting, online tools, and surveys. He also conducts sensitivity analyses and helps deploy online tools specializing in site selection and management using remote sensing. His work has taken him to Guyana, Suriname, Mexico, The Bahamas, Lesotho, Malawi, and Mozambique and he has project experience in the US, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Alessia is a Principal Consultant at ERM, working on Social Performance and Stakeholder Engagement.

She has 15 years of experience in ESDD and E&S compliance monitoring of projects against the main international E&S safeguard standards, preparation of bankable ESIA studies and management plans. She has worked across several sectors (Oil&Gas, Power and Renewables, Infrastructures, Agribusiness) and geographies, with a focus on Africa.

Eleanor has been an environmental consultant at ERM for four years and she is based in the York Office. She is responsible for project management and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) coordination across a range of renewable projects, including onshore wind, battery energy storage systems, and solar. She has a good working knowledge of UK planning and environmental legislation and has technical experience in completing shadow flicker and carbon balance assessments for onshore wind farm EIAs. Eleanor is currently gaining experience in coordinating EIA on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and is excited to learn more about this aspect of the UK planning system in the future.

Hugo is a Consultant in the Onshore Renewables and Infrastructure team with 2 years of experience, based in the London Office.

At ERM he has worked on a range of power and infrastructure projects, mostly renewable energy projects in the UK. Hugo has contributed to impact assessments for onshore wind, solar, and battery projects. He has experience working on planning applications for developments of local and national scale, coordinating technical teams and assisting project managers.

Lorenzo is a Partner based in Milan’s office. He is the EMEA Regional Industry Leader for Diversified Energy and the EMEA Account Manager for two of ERM’s Global Key Clients in the Energy Sector. He has long experience with major Capital Projects in the Energy Sector (O&G and Renewables) with a specific focus on offshore LNG plants and offshore Gas Pipelines. He has matured large companies dynamic via long-term secondments too.

Matteo Veronesi is a Consulting Partner with ERM's Capital Project Delivery team, with over 23 years of experience on large scale energy, power and transportation projects. Matteo's ESIA and permitting experience spans across the different stages of the development of Capital Project, from early planning to detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and operations.

Sarah brings over five years of expertise in environmental impact assessments for large-scale projects, primarily within the power and energy sector, encompassing transmission lines and renewable energy initiatives. She specializes in biodiversity impact assessments, including critical habitat assessments, the development of scoping studies, ecological survey design, and the creation of effective mitigation strategies to ensure adherence to German, European, and international regulations and standards.

Sue has over 25 years’ experience in environmental assessment and management on large road and rail infrastructure projects and urban regeneration schemes. Sue’s specialisms include a strong technical knowledge supported by a good working knowledge of UK and European Planning and Environmental legislation which she has put to effective use as expert environmental and landscape witness at several planning inquiries.

Sue is the EMEA Technical Community Impact Assessment lead advising and mentoring on matters about impact assessment and the UK lead on EIA. Sue also lectures regularly at the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford University on Impact Assessment and the role it plays in consenting development.
