Webinar: Myths and Realities of Implementing ISSB S1 and S2

Arturo Rodríguez has more than 15 years of experience working in the sustainability space. He currently serves as Manager for Ibero-American Relationships at the IFRS Foundation. In this position, Arturo leads efforts in the region to raise awareness among companies, investors, regulators, and other actors in the capital markets about the IFRS Sustainability Standards of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). Arturo is currently based in Mexico City.

Sandra is an expert in the design, execution, and evaluation of sustainable development strategies linked to the private and public sectors and international cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean. In the last 15 years, he has led projects in 16 countries on the following topics: ESG risks, sustainable finance, strategies for preventing socio-environmental conflicts, and social inclusion and productive diversification plans. Sandra has significantly contributed to developing the Latin American market in sustainable finance. She has led over 60 regional projects, many of which are pioneering initiatives in their respective countries regarding green and sustainable debt instruments.

In the academic field, Sandra has a master’s degree in Environment and Development, graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and received a scholarship from the Chevening Awards. He has publications on corporate sustainability and has given conferences at international events such as the World Resources Forum 2021, 2017, and 2023 (Geneva) and different investor and stock market forums in Latin America.

Juan Simonelli is an Environmental Engineer from the Universidad Católica Argentina and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University in the United States (2014).

Originally from Argentina and currently based in Mexico City (CDMX), Mr. Simonelli has worked extensively across Latin America and the Caribbean, the United States, and Europe. His work focuses on providing support in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) topics, thematic taxonomies, green and sustainable financial products, and disclosure and reporting mechanisms.

With 20+ years of experience in regulatory development, environmental public policy formulation, international negotiations, and diplomacy, Juan has built his career supporting major private sector companies across various industries, world-class research institutions, government entities, and United Nations agencies contributing to Multilateral Environmental Agreements in the areas of climate change, chemicals, and waste management.

As a Partner in Corporate Advisory at ERM, he leads teams supporting corporate sustainability strategies, climate change projects, and sustainable finance initiatives across Northern Latin America, bridging disclosure frameworks and capital flows into projects and assets in the region.
