ERM, the world’s largest specialist sustainability consultancy, has achieved the highest overall score among health and safety consulting providers assessed by independent analyst firm Verdantix.

The Verdantix Smart Innovators: Health and Safety Consulting Providers report is designed to help EHS executives compare the capabilities of the nine most prominent health and safety consultancies across six categories. ERM achieved the maximum score, defined as market-leading and differentiated capabilities, in EHS strategy; behavior-based safety; audit and inspections; process safety; and safety training. The firm was also assessed as having a robust solution that meets all foundational requirements for its occupational health and industrial hygiene capabilities.

ERM works with clients to move beyond compliance and corrective programs to transform health and safety performance and culture by enhancing processes and programs, assessing and reducing risks, applying technological solutions and supporting leaders to increase their impact and effectiveness.

According to Verdantix, health and safety strategies “will accelerate over the next two years, driven by greater regulatory complexity, the development of more powerful analytical solutions, and the need for services firms to support change management to allow for the next wave of digitization. Health and safety consultants have steered away from just providing technical experience; now they can also address issues around strategy and safety culture.”

Valery Kucherov, Global Service Leader for Health & Safety at ERM said: “We’re proud that Verdantix has recognized ERM for our market-leading health and safety capabilities, which is a testament to the talent and commitment of our H&S professionals across the globe. Every day, they are helping clients to safeguard their people and navigate a complex environment in which stakeholder expectations for health and safety continue to rise. We look forward to supporting more businesses in driving the culture and performance required to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of people at work.”
