13 May 2013
ERM participated in the 33rd annual conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) in Calgary, Alberta from May 13 to 16.
Themed ‘The Next Generation’, IAIA 2013 focused on expected global climate changes, alongside an increase in urban, human and economic development. In response to this, the conference addressed how impact assessment will have to adjust accordingly. The IAIA conference brought 1,000 delegates to Calgary to take in the many technical sessions, posters, panels, training courses and exhibits.

Why did ERM participate at IAIA 2013?
ERM has over 30 years of global Impact Assessment and Planning (IAP) experience. We have helped clients in a variety of sectors use the IAP process as a means of promoting sustainable development, enhancing their reputation, and achieving economic objectives in an environmentally responsible manner.
In 2012 the Canadian IAP Practice grew substantially through the acquisition of Rescan Environmental Services Ltd. Rescan, now an ERM company, brings over 170 IAP specialists to ERM. In Canada, we are now 220 people strong and have 10 offices across six provinces.
