ERM is the Content Partner at this year's Power-Gen Asia Conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, and we will be presenting and exhibiting throughout the event.

ERM has been collaborating with Power-Gen Asia for many years to share our insights that will ultimately shape the Asian power sector. Covering every aspect of the power generation industry, The 73rd Indonesia National Electricity Day - POWER-GEN Asia event will include three days packed with technical tours, more than 50 conference sessions, panel discussions, a comprehensive exhibition and multiple networking events.

ERM focus in the Power Sector is to mitigate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) liabilities, including to achieve optimum asset disposal value. We have extensive energy sector experience delivering key support on all kinds of power projects at all stages of the project lifecycle from social risk management at the concept stage, through seeking operational efficiencies, to closure strategy and implementation.

ERM Speakers Profile

Sean Purdie is the Market Sector Lead (and Managing Partner) for Power in the Asia Pacific region within ERM, based in Hong Kong He joined ERM in March 2013 and is responsible for power sector strategic development, client relationships and business growth, while providing high level project and sector review and inputs. He maintains a strong power sector network across the region regarding projects, markets and personnel. He has experience in nearly all countries throughout Asia Pacific and almost all power disciplines, and speaks regularly at power and energy conferences in Asia Pacific. 

Dave Maslin is a Partner and Power Sector Lead for Southeast Asia at ERM. He has been consulting extensively in the Asia power sector since relocating to Singapore in 2003, and resided in the Philippines from 2013 to 2017. His background includes renewable and thermal power generation and he has worked with the international financing community on a wide range of projects. His countries of work experience include New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, and India. 

Inez Rakhmani is a Senior Consultant with a background from Bachelor’s Degree from Chemistry of Gajah Mada University. She has undertaken projects in Indonesia region for environmental and social impact assessments. EHS due diligence, and audits, and regulatory review and compliance over 7 years. She has been an EIA Consultant Team Leader issued by Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi-Lingkungan Hidup or LSP-LH.

David Blaha is a partner with ERM based in Bangkok. He has over 30 years experience helping project sponsors manage their environmental and social risks, obtain host country regulatory approvals, achieve their social license to operate and secure international project financing, primarily working in the power sector.  

Stuart Mackenzie is a Senior Consultant with ERM Hong Kong Ltd. He has over ten years’ experience providing advisory services to financiers and project developers in both the UK and in Asia. He has carried out Environmental and Social Impact Assessments as well as Environmental and Social Due Diligence projects for clients across Asia including project developers, DFI’s and Commercial Banks. These projects span various technologies in the power sector including solar, wind, hydro, and waste to energy as well as traditional thermal power generation. He has worked in a number of countries around Asia in the power sector including Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

Shiva Tyagi currently leads ERM offerings in the Power Sector at ERM. He is former Deloitte Asia Pac Lead Partner for Sustainability Services in the Energy & Resources sector. He was instrumental in establishing successful Energy Management, EHS, sustainability, waste, water, and climate change advisory and assurance services for Deloitte in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Thailand. 

David Nicholson is a Technical Director and Lead Consultant for ERM’s Biodiversity practice for Asia Pacific. David has 20 years of experience in the environment sector including environmental impact assessment, biodiversity assessment and management, forest management, water resources and public sector policy and economics. David is experienced with the application of the Equator Principles and the IFC Performance Standard 6 Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management of Living Natural Resources (IFC6). He has worked on projects subject to assessment under the Asian Development Bank Safeguard Policy Statement. He has worked on several large power projects in the Asia Pacific, including hydropower, geothermal, wind, solar and conventional power.
