Climate-friendly development plans

Cape Town, South Africa

As part of ERM's Southern Africa social consulting practice, we have worked with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), an independent philanthropic organization working with a wide range of partners seeking to transform the lives of poor and vulnerable children in developing countries.

CIFF contracted ERM to provide an independent evaluation of the performance, measurement and effectiveness of the implementation of its Mitigation Action Plans and Scenarios (MAPS) program.

The MAPS program, developed by a consortium of universities, nongovernmental organizations and international institutions, aims to support the advancement of climate-compatible development plans in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru. A multinational team of ERM experts measured and evaluated the impact and effectiveness of the global MAPS program and monitored outcomes to determine whether the overarching goal of accelerating political commitment for climate change mitigation was achieved. ERM's work with organizations like CIFF represents a unique opportunity for our expertise to support organizations to have a real impact on critical sustainability issues.
