Oil and gas leader, North America

Heather Royston
Houston, Texas, US

There is no arguing that the current challenges in the oil and gas sector are impacting North America. However, we believe this downturn can actually open more doors than it closes. I am excited about leading our team in North America to ensure that ERM remains agile in the market, listens to our clients’ needs and responds with innovative and cost-efficient solutions.

In order to do this, we must continue to diversify our services and develop new ways to deliver these to market. Our services around risk management, for example, traditionally have focused on clients in the oil and gas sector, but the chemical and manufacturing industries need to manage risk as well. To reach these clients, we are adjusting our strategies to align existing services with new business opportunities.

The downturn in the oil and gas market also gives ERM the chance to reassess goals. ERM should be the place where the most talented people choose to work – and enjoy a fulfilling career. I want to make sure that everyone has a path to find professional satisfaction and add value during their career here at ERM. This means that we need to adjust not only to the changing market, but also to the changing needs of our workforce.
