As a member of the UK network within the UN Global Compact, ERM took part in the inaugural Target Gender Equality (TGE) initiative.
TGE is a gender equality accelerator program that uses facilitated performance analysis, capacity building workshops, peer-to-peer learning and multi-stakeholder dialogue to improve setting targets and action plans that increase women’s representation and leadership in organizations. Developed in partnership with Catalyst, a leading non-profit organization that helps build workplaces that work for women, the program spanned several months and touched on three main topics:
Defining ambition;
Action planning and accountability; and
Measuring progress.
The output from the program will support ERM’s effort to set targets for gender-based diversity and representation at all levels of the organization. As a formal close to the program, participating companies were invited to take part in an action dialogue at the Business and Human Rights Summit. ERM’s Executive Sponsor for DE&I, Tim Strawn, spoke about our drive to create greater accountability at all levels of the business, but particularly at the region and business unit level, for action and progress on gender equality.
The UNGC program provided an inspiring forum for an open exchange of ideas among peers. This has helped me to understand ERM’s performance and how we can become a smarter and more inclusive business."
