This project will support 40 new Mayi Walas solar entrepreneur groups from early stages of recruitment and training to the launch of self-sustaining businesses to help provide economic independence and safe solar light for over 100,000 people in rural communities.

The Ocean Foundation’s mission is to support, strengthen, and promote organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world. They focus on emerging threats to generate cutting edge solutions and better implementation strategies. This project will invest in community capacity building to protect over 160 hectares of mangrove restoration in the Xcalak Reefs National Park, with the ultimate goal to protect the national park and achieve a blue carbon certification.

The Ocean Wise Association’s mission is to empower communities and individuals to take action to protect and restore the world’s oceans from climate change, overfishing and ocean pollution. This support backs the seaforestation project to research and develop cost-effective and scalable kelp regeneration techniques to ensure these ecosystems flourish for future generations.

CRD mission is to conduct research, training, technological transfer and policy advocacy for sustainable rural development. They focus on natural resources governance and biodiversity conservation, disaster risk management and climate change adaption to ensure sustainable livelihood development. This project will support the conservation of 50,000 medicinal plants and the protection of up to 15,000 hectares of natural forest in association with livelihood improvements for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas.
